In these papers, author Clive Belfield reports on enrollments and expenditures for ECCE across the decade from 1995 to 2005 using three harmonized National Household Education Surveys. These surveys provide detailed information on all forms of ECCE, as well as information on private expenditures that enable analysis of enrollment patterns by age of child, mother’s employment, marital status, expenditure patterns and prices paid per hour of services. The author uses the date to derive critical trend information for a dynamic decade of growth in ECCE.
