Beth Ann Gardiner
Early Childhood Education Technical Assistance Specialist
Beth Gardiner works as an Early Childhood Education Technical Assistance Specialist at NIEER, primarily focused on providing supports for programs seeking opportunities to expand state-funded preschool programs. Beth has extensive experience as a teacher of young children from toddlers through first grade before leaving the classroom to work at a local child care resource and referral agency (CCR&R). During her years at the CCR&R, Beth worked managing the agency’s training institute and overseeing various technical assistance projects, all focused on improving the quality of early childhood programs in high-need communities. Beth also had oversight of the agency child care referral department.
Before coming to NIEER, Beth worked at the New Jersey Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Education, administering the state’s $17 million federal Preschool Development Grant. In addition, Beth was involved in supporting the roll-out of state preschool expansion funding. Beth holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the College of New Jersey and an M.S.Ed in Early Childhood Leadership from Bank Street College. Beth is actively involved in the New Jersey Coalition of Infant/Toddler Educators (NJCITE) state board.
