Summary
This policy brief examines the impact of state-funded pre-K expansion on the quality and supply of child care in New York and Ohio. The authors present the results of analyses of qualitative data, secondary data, and policy documents and address the following questions about factors that can affect the quality and supply of child care:
- What state policies and regulations regarding pre-K expansion have the potential to positively impact child care quality and access for low-income working families?
- What promising practices and lessons have been learned in pre-K expansion efforts that can positively impact child care quality and access for low-income working families?
