Elise Genao
Bio
Elise brings a wealth of experience, having served in various roles within public school settings including preschool teacher, curriculum supervisor, master teacher, and school administrator in a preschool through eighth-grade school. Elise also served as an Education Manager within a Head Start agency. In her most recent position, she served as a school principal where she supported students, teachers, and parents in a high-serving Hispanic community in grades preschool through fifth. She has been a recipient of the NJ Diversity in Education Award from the F.L.O.R. Foundation, the National Excellence in School Leadership Initiative (NESLI) Scholarship for The Latina Women’s Advanced Leadership Program, and the Pacini International Scholarship which allowed her to study Reggio Emilia practices abroad. Elise holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northeastern University and a master’s in early childhood education and School Administration from William Paterson University. She has over 15 years experience collaborating with NIEER on various projects. She is also a wife and mother to three beautiful daughters.
