Carol Contreras
Bio
As a Program Coordinator, Carol Contreras provides in-house project support to our research staff. Carol has worked on various projects at NIEER, including the studies of Colombia’s pre-K system, Acelero Learning, Chicago preschools, WV Universal Pre-K study, and several NJ Department of Ed projects. As supervisor of the team validating and digitizing study data, she has worked both sides of the team effort, from entering the data to working side by side with the project staff.
Prior to joining NIEER, Carol volunteered for a year at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center at Rutgers University, was an adviser and mentor in the Rutgers Future Scholars program offered through the Department of Psychology, received the Certificate in Civic Engagement and Service Education Partnerships (CESEP) Civic Pathways Program, and was the Peer Mentor for the Psychology Discovery House Living-Learning Community. She has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Rutgers University and has taken several non-matriculate courses under the School of Social Work and the Graduate School of Education. She plans for a career in school counseling or administration policy, and to perhaps one day own a company incorporating massage therapy and counseling, soothing both body and mind.
