Our Benchmarks For High-Quality Pre-K tool, is an instrument that identifies the 10 minimum policy benchmarks needed for highly effective preschool programs. Our Benchmarks tool helps to determine quality by establishing the floor for standards that ECE program in every state should have. As we continue to survey states and publish the State of Preschool we will change the benchmarks to reflect new research and the evolution of state pre-K. Our goal is to help all federally funded ECE programs, in all 50 states, establish a uniformed base line of high-quality measurable standard. Ultimately, ensure all children in the United States has access to high-quality ECE. NIEER also has developed tools to measure quality classroom practices including those specific to Dual Language Learners and math and science practices.
