Coaching as Part of a Pilot Quality Rating Scale Initiative
Challenges to–and Supports for–the Change-Making Process

This article shares results from a study focusing on a Quality Rating Scale (QRS) consulting process, as well as some of the challenges that arose during that process. The QRS consulting process came about when a large Midwestern city began implementing a pilot QRS and paired early education programs with itinerant consultants known as coaches. The author concludes with recommendations for addressing the challenges to this process and enhancing the QRS coaching process.
