Charles Whitman
Bio
As a Research Project Coordinator, Charles Whitman oversees data collection for research studies, as well as conducts assessment and reliability training for project specific needs. Charlie has worked on various projects at NIEER, including studies funded by the NJ Department of Education, such as the Preschool Quality Evaluation Study and the NJ Preschool Expansion Study. Prior to joining NIEER, Charlie has worked as a Behavioral Assistant for the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County wherein he provided direct support to youth with behavioral needs. He has also worked as a long-term substitute teacher at the Acelero Learning preschool program. He has volunteered for the past ten years at the Hawley Spring Run- A Race Against Suicide, and assists in the scholarship selection for the Tyler Whitman Suicide Prevention Scholarship. He holds a Master’s degree in Statistics, Measurement and Evaluation in Education, and is continuing his education as a Ph.D. student in the Theory, Organization and Policy Education program at Rutgers University.
