Yearbook Media Coverage Reflects Concern for Preschoolers

When NIEER released its State of Preschool 2008 yearbook on April 8, media coverage surpassed all previous experience by a wide margin. The coverage -- highlighted with a segment on NBC Nightly News, coverage on C-SPAN and in the New York Times - ran nationwide in newspaper articles, television and radio broadcasts and blogs. They all carried the news that the latest yearbook shows state-funded preschool education continues to expand and improve - but that the threat of severe reductions in program funding looms as states face difficult economic choices.
