Advocacy group finds state has work to do, suggests steps to raise standards

The Southern Institute on Children and Families, a public-policy research organization based in Columbia, recently released a report outlining steps states should take to raise standards for child care in the region. In South Carolina, those steps include lowering the number of children allowed in a child-care setting and raising the number of adults required to supervise them.
