Children who attend a day nursery before starting school can expect to earn Pounds 90,000 more over their lives than those who stay at home or are cared for by relatives, new research shows. Researchers at the University of North Carolina in the US also found that young adults who are placed in high-quality nurseries or formal childcare establishments as infants are more likely to perform well on intelligence tests, to pursue higher education and to delay parenting than those who do not.
