A proactive plan for preschools

So last week, the organization [NOW] launched “the family initiative,” a long-term, nationwide campaign to provide universal, affordable child care — quality day care for infants, preschool education for toddlers, productive after-school programs for elementary-schoolers. Long-term, says Rutgers professor Steve Barnett, a member of the NOW Legal Defense board, the goal is not to scrap what exists, but to enhance and build on it.
