Washing Hands
New Guidance for Preventing Flu in Pre-K

Young children are at higher risk for contracting H1N1 (swine flu). With flu season approaching, concern grows that between the swine flu and seasonal flu viruses, preschool programs and family child care providers could experience big challenges in coping with outbreaks. The Centers for Disease Control has issued detailed guidance for parents and providers on flu prevention strategies and a technical report examining what is known so far about swine flu in children and flu in general. Sesame Street's Elmo also joins the effort with flu prevention tips aimed at kids.
